OPENING RECEPTION / Saturday, February 17 / 4PM-7PM
MEMORIES ON LOCATION
Memory is a multi-faceted exploration that engages our minds and senses often in unexpected ways. A few bars of melody or a fragment of words spoken can conjure up times and places from long ago. The slightest breath of fragrance might bring back an emotion or the memory of a person long forgotten.
In this show the artists explore places and objects, real and imagined, that provide visual cues to connect one with the past. Color and texture are layered and mixed in a variety of ways to convey emotions and suggest locations. The viewer is invited to explore her or his own imagination and interpretation to unlock places, times and feelings from their own memory.
