McHugh’s artwork deals with the obsessive collection of found objects from the streets of Los Angeles and beyond. The result could be a “head”, “torso”, “base” assemblage of fragments of concrete, metal, wood, glass, plastic; et all. Some are free standing, some require a shelf. Others hang on the wall. He’s been told that they have an animated, lifelike quality to them; but who knows what goes through his mind in their creation. This observer would suggest that some of the world is dying to know…
Kevin McHugh was born (September 7th,1959) and raised in Port Chester, New York. He moved to Arizona in September 1977 to study electronic engineering for two years.
