OPENING RECEPTION: June 22, 7-11PM

SHOW DURATION: June 22, 2019 - July 1, 2019

This 2-person show pairs Kim Marra's abstracted geometric paintings with Christine Rasmussen's lyrical urban landscapes. Both artists collect visual information from the world around them, combining memories of past surroundings to illustrate spaces tangential to, but divorced from, reality.

The two oil painters, who share a studio at Keystone Art Space, each have their own unique visual language. Marra’s paintings are abstract explorations of textures and geometry, combined to create spaces and environments reminiscent of her past. Rasmussen recreates scenes of architecture around greater Los Angeles. The notable lack of humans are replaced by a mysterious disembodied fabric, leaving the viewer to wonder who has encountered these quiet landscapes.

With similar inspirations, these artists bring you an agglomeration of texture, memory, and environment.
