Curated by Chelsea Dean

Opening reception: Saturday, April 28, 6-10 pm

Keystone Art Space is pleased to present DISPARATE SOURCES: Los Angeles Collage, an exhibition featuring the work of seventeen artists who utilize and push the boundaries of traditional collage through a variety of processes, methods, materials, and styles.

Ranging from flat surfaces to three-dimensional sculptures, DISPARATE SOURCE span rom playful, comical, political, fantastical, to deeply personal in content. Works pivot between abstract and narrative approache, cting as vehicles to address larger cultural, personal, and societal issues. What connects the artists of ISPARATE SOURCE is their affinity for the raw physicality of the art form, and a tactile process that the viewer experiences through layers of information. Photographic imagery, paint, paper, resin, found objects, and a multitude of materials are employed to communicate disparate messages. Combined, the artists reinterpret and reimagine a collective past, present, and future, esulting in dynamic new realities.
